Pistons' Greg Monroe Denies Report That He'll Sign with Knicks this Offseason

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Detroit Pistons forward/center Greg Monroe is a restricted free agent at the end of the season, and is expected to cash in with his new contract. Despite a recent report, Monroe denies that he's already pick his new team, the New York Knicks.

According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, Monroe signing with the Knicks is “about as close to a done deal as you can get.”

Monroe is denying any such agreement.

Agreeing to a deal before the free agency is illegal in NBA, let alone before a season ends.

“You write it’s a done deal, there must be another Greg Monroe around here that I don’t know about, because I haven’t agreed to anything,” Monroe told Mlive.com's David Mayo.

“This stuff right here, it’s just unfortunate that we have to talk about it,” Monroe added. “I know we have to. But I talk to my agent every day, and I know for sure, I’m 100-percent, 1,000-percent confident, that he hasn’t done anything. If (the Knicks) have interest, maybe they might have commented on that. But I haven’t even gotten to that place yet.”

A five-year NBA veteran, Monroe is averaging 16.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game with the Pistons this year.

Pistons Acquire Reggie Jackson

Brian A. Westerholt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Detroit Pistons acquired Reggie Jackson from the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of a three-team deal that also included the Utah Jazz.

The Thunder will receive forward Kyle Singler and guard D.J. Augistin from the Pistons and forward Steve Novak and center Enes Kanter from the Jazz. The Jazz get center Kendrick Perkins, forward Grant Jerrett, draft rights to Tibor Pleiss, a protected future first-rounder from the Thunder, and a Pistons second-round pick.

The 24-year-old Jackson has had his minutes cut ever since the Thunder acquired Dion Waiters in January. That caused Jackson's agent to request a trade.

When Jackson heard the new he tweeted, "Crying tears of joy

Jackson is averaging 28 minutes, 12.8 points, four rebounds and 4.2 assists per game this season.

Pistons' Point Guard Brandon Jennings Out 6-9 Month with Achilles Injury

NBA via Milwaukee Bucks(MILWAUKEE) -- The Detroit Pistons' biggest fears have come true as point guard Brandon Jennings will miss the next 6-9 months with an Achilles injury.

"6/9months." Jennings posted on Twitter on Sunday afternoon, confirming the injury.

Jennings fell to the floor during the team's game against the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night after he planted his left leg while he was guarding on inbounds pass. He had to be carried off the court by teammates.

"We gotta just keep pushin' WE (Pistons) worked to hard to get down about anything right now. We gotta stay focus on the main Goal. Playoffs!" Jennings tweeted after the game.

Since waiving forward Josh Smith, Jennings has played some of the best basketball of his career for the white-hot Pistons.

This past Wednesday, he dished out a career-high 21 assists and was coming into his own in his second season with the team.

In 41 games this season, Jennings averaged 15.4 points and 6.6 assists per game.
