Giants' Eli Manning OK with Team Drafting Ryan Nassib

Elsa/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Even though the New York Giants drafted quarterback Ryan Nassib over the weekend, current starter Eli Manning isn't too concerned about it.

"I think that's pretty normal," Manning said to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger. "I think it's always good to have a good quarterback come in and learn and be prepared. You never know what happens in this league, and you always have to have quality players on your team and quarterbacks, and so I think it's a good thing. Looking forward to working with a young guy."

Manning has been the full-time starter since 2005, and even at 32-years-old, he still has plenty of football left in him.

Despite winning two Super Bowls in the previous six seasons, the Giants decided to draft former Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib in the fourth-round. Nassib was considered one of the more talented quarterback prospects in the draft, but slipped in the draft. The Giants took the opportunity to get a potential future starting quarterback down the line.

Manning has thrown for 211 touchdowns since his rookie year in 2004. Nassib threw 70 touchdowns during his time at Syracuse.

Peyton Manning Works Out with Wes Welker

Justin Edmonds/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is already preparing for 2013.  Manning and his brother Eli are at Duke University working out with Blue Devils coach David Cutcliffe, who was Peyton's offensive coordinator at Tennessee.

Manning brought Broncos wide receivers Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker.  Welker was a top free agent addition for the Broncos and Manning was happy to work with him.

"There's certain guys you just feel like you have timing with right away," Manning told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Wednesday. "He's (Wes Welker) a guy that has a great feel for how to get open, and understands route concepts and, of course, he played in such a sophisticated offense there in New England, so he's a smart player. You can see why he's been such a productive player. He's intense. He loves to work."

As for working out with his old coach, he said, "I told Cutcliffe to coach us like we were both freshman at Tennessee or Ole Miss. It's been great work, great timing with the receivers this early in the offseason," Manning said.

NFC Rocks AFC in Pro Bowl

Scott Cunningham/Getty Images(HONOLULU) -- Another Pro Bowl filled with plenty of offense and little intrigue - but will it be the last one?

Victor Cruz caugh 10 passes and Russell Wilson threw three touchdowns to help the NFC bury the AFC, 62-35 in the Pro Bowl on Sunday.

Commissioner Roger Goodell threatened to stop playing the game if the quality of play did not improve in this year's version. Last year many of the players were booed for lack of effort.

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph took home MVP honors for having 122 yards receiving, and thought the players did try this year. "Guys were competing, guys wanted to win and guys want to keep the game here," Rudolph said. "That was the point before the game. We want to keep this game rolling for future Pro Bowlers."

The AFC got 205 yards passing from Colts rookie quarterback Andrew Luck, but only rushed for 15 yards in the loss.

Giants Win, Fail to Make Playoffs

Leon Halip/Getty Images(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) -- There will be a new Super Bowl champion in 2013.  The New York Giants (9-7) did what they had to do on Sunday, crushing the Philadelphia Eagles (4-12) 42-7 for a chance to sneak into the playoffs.

New York's playoff chances ended after the Chicago Bears topped the Detroit Lions, 26-24. Eli Manning threw a career-high five touchdowns in the rout of the Eagles, but will have the offseason to think about what could have been.

This will be the seventh straight season that the defending Super Bowl champion failed to win a playoff game the following year.

The Giants were blown out the previous two weeks by the Falcons and Ravens, which didn't help their playoff chances.

Michael Vick threw for 197 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles final game of the season.  Vick may have seen his last start in Philadelphia, along with head coach Andy Reid, who both have been surrounded by questions of their return next season.

Falcons Blank Giants, 34-0

Scott Cunningham/Getty Images(ATLANTA) -- In a rematch of last season's NFC Wild-Card game, the Atlanta Falcons blanked the New York Giants 34-0 in hopes of sending a message to all their skeptics and critics.

Matt Ryan threw three touchdown passes for the Falcons (12-2), who held the Giants scoreless in the regular season for the first time since 1996.

Julio Jones caught two of those touchdowns, finishing with 74 receiving yards on six receptions.

The Falcons moved one step closer to home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with the win.  They need one win in their final two games to accomplish that feat.

Eli Manning threw two interceptions for the Giants (8-6), which fell into a first-place tie with the Washington Redskins in the NFC East.

The Giants were sloppy from the start.  They were 0-for-3 on fourth down conversions and kicker Lawrence Tynes missed a 30-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter.

Archie Manning Talks Rookie QB Success

Elsa/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- It has been a year of the rookie quarterback’s in the NFL.  With the first pick of the 2012 draft, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck leading his team to an 8-4 record to Robert Griffin III of the Redskins having his team one game out of the NFC East Divison, and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson having his team right in the NFC playoff hunt.

Former NFL quarterback Archie Manning wasn’t as fortunate during his time with the Saints.  Manning had nine losing seasons during ten full seasons as the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints but was able to make two Pro Bowls in 1978 and 1979.  Manning is also the father of Peyton, quarterback of the Broncos and Eli quarterback of the Giants.

In an interview with ABC Sports Radio, Manning was asked what he thinks about the performance of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, who has taken over for Peyton in Indianapolis.

"Andrew is everything people thought he would be," said Manning.  "He’s very fast I think as a rookie, he’s a good athlete when he throws the football.  He’s doing a great job."

The Giants fell to the Redskins on Monday night and Manning praised the performance of Griffin III.

"Got off to a really good start, built an offense around him, a little unique and different offense," Manning said.  "Fast quarterback and someone who will probably just get even better, really good player."

Manning also credited the success of Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden and Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

RGIII Leads Redskins Past Giants

Rob Carr/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- The NFC East has not yet been decided.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III threw for a late touchdown to defeat the New York Giants 17-16 on Monday night at FedEx Field.

With the the win, the Redskins (6-6) are now just a game behind New York (7-5) for the division lead. "We know that our backs are against the wall," Griffin said. "And even though we won tonight, our backs are still against the wall."

After a first quarter Giants field goal, Washington was driving in New York territory when Griffin scrambled to his left and lost the football. However, it popped right into the hands of teammate Joshua Morgan, who ran it in for a touchdown.

Griffin connected with Pierre Garcon in the fourth quarter for an eight yard touchdown to put the Redskins ahead. He also rushed for 72 yards, breaking the NFL record for rookie quarterback rushing yards in a season.

Manning, Giants Trounce Packers

Rich Schultz/Getty Images(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) -- The New York Giants were on a two-game losing streak and in need of a win. They had an appropriate response on Sunday night.

Eli Manning threw three touchdowns as New York trounced the Green Bay Packers 38-10 at MetLife Stadium.

Manning delivered his first strong performance in a month, and passed Phill Simms on the Giants' all-time career TD list with his 200th career touchdown pass.  "I never thought my arm was tired, never felt like it," Manning said. "After a week off, you come back to practice, it felt good, alive, balls coming out with a little pop on it."

The Giants (7-4) held the Green Bay offense to only one long touchdown while forcing two turnovers, including a sack-fumble of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

New York also ran well against Green Bay (7-4), racking up 147 rushing yards. They did lose running back Andre Brown to a broken leg.

NFL Preview: Packers At Giants

Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- In what could be an NFC playoff preview, the last two Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers (7-3) will square off on Sunday night in a big game for both teams.

Green Bay comes in having won six straight games and are tied for the division lead with the Bears in the NFC North.  The Giants (6-4) are clinging onto a 1.5 lead in the NFC East after the Redskins (5-6) handled the Cowboys on Thursday.

"I'm really tired about answering all the questions about what is wrong," said Giants head coach Tom Coughlin.  "We play a game and play it well, answer the questions that way."

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown 27 touchdowns with only six interceptions despite being sacked 32 times.

"I feel Aaron is having a very good season," Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said. "He's what makes us go on offense."

The Giants are coming off a bye week and quarterback Eli Manning is hoping to break the two-game losing streak and his streak of three straight games without a touchdown pass.

"I think you just try and get rest and come back fresh," Manning said. "Obviously, I think having a week off just to get your mind off of football a little bit, then you come back and you're just excited, re-energized, have a great week of preparation."
