Devils Sign First-Round Pick Matteau

Christian Petersen/Getty Images(NEWARK, N.J.) -- New Jersey Devils first round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft Stefan Matteau, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the team Tuesday.

Matteau is the son of former New York Rangers forward Stephane Matteau.

Matteau, 18, played the last two seasons with the United States Development Program. He had 22 goals and 28 assists over the two seasons.

Next season Matteau will play for Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. His father is an assistant coach for the team.

Cowboys Sign First Round Pick Claiborne

Al Bello/Getty Images(IRVING, Texas) -- Cornerback Morris Claiborne signed a four-year, $16.4 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys Monday.

The contract includes a $10.3 million signing bonus and is fully guaranteed. The Cowboys have a club option for a fifth season.

Claiborne was Dallas' first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He has been unable to participate in practice all offseason because he has been recovering from wrist surgery.

The former LSU star has now been cleared medically and will begin practice Wednesday when rookies, quarterbacks, first-year players and selective veterans report to camp.

By signing Claiborne, the Cowboys have officially signed their entire 2012 draft class.
