Winston 'Would Love' to Play in Tampa

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston had an all-day meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tuesday.

The Buccaneers, who hold the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, had team officials meet with the youngster who many believe the Bucs will take with that top pick.

"Being able to play three years in Florida, I would love to stay here in this great state," Winston told the Bucs' website. "I've just got to take advantage of this blessing. It's not really important to me to be the first pick, but it is important to me to be picked. I believe that I have been blessed during my years at Florida State to win a national championship and just be a winning quarterback. And I believe this place -- I would love to be here."

The 6-foot-4, 230 pound Winston played two seasons for Florida State, winning a national championship and Heisman Trophy along the way. He finished his time in Tallahassee completing 66 percent of his passes for 7,964 yards, 65 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions.

The NFL Draft runs from April 30 to May 2 in Chicago.

Jameis Winston Declares for NFL Draft

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has declared for this year's NFL draft.

Winston's father, Antonor, said on Tuesday that a timetable for the announcement would be after Monday's College Football Playoff National Championship, but that was short lived.

Winston was still on the fence as of Tuesday and many thought he'd return to Florida State, but Antonor told ESPN's David M. Hale that his son made a firm decision late Tuesday night.

"After weighing this decision with my family and friends, I have decided to declare for the 2015 NFL Draft and forgo my remaining eligibility at Florida State," Winston said in the statement released by The Legacy Agency, who will represent him. "I reached this very difficult decision after careful consideration and long thought, realizing how difficult it would be to say goodbye to my family at Florida State. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to wear the garnet and gold and have greatly enjoyed my time as a Seminole, both as an athlete and a student in the classroom."

The Tampa Bay Buccaners have the first pick in this year's draft.

Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith told Scout.com's Gil Arcia that he was "extremely impressed" by Winston's performance, even in the blowout loss to Oregon in the Rose Bowl, but is not convinced about his ability.

FSU Lands Top 2016 Quarterback Recruit Malik Henry

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- As the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles have yet to lose a game since the 2012 season, they've locked up a valuable piece for their future. Top 2016 quarterback recruit Malik Henry announced his commitment to the Seminoles on ESPNU's College Football Daily on Thursday.

Henry fielded scholarship offers from such schools as Auburn, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee, Texas and USC. In the end, Henry felt Florida State was the best fit.

"I felt comfortable around coach Jimbo Fisher. I think he's a great quarterback coach, he knows his stuff and their offense is explosive," Henry said. "I think I can see myself in their offense."

"It was a tough decision, but I finally realized it was Florida State a week or two ago, after talking to Coach Fisher and reminiscing about my trip there," Henry told ESPN.com. "I felt comfortable at Florida State and around Tallahassee."

Just like current Seminoles starting quarterback Jameis Winston, Henry also plans on pursuing baseball at Florida State.

SEC West Dominates New AP Poll

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- In the latest Associated Press college football poll, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) reached a new level of dominance. Four of the top five teams in the country all reside in the SEC, the first time a single conference can boast such a feat.

Mississippi State (6-0) remained the number one team in the land while Ole Miss (7-0) remains third. Alabama (6-1) jumped up to fourth in the poll, thanks to a 59-0 rout over then 21st-ranked Texas A&M, with Auburn (5-1) rounding out the top-five.

The lone team not from the SEC in the top-five is Florida State (7-0) of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Seminoles held off Notre Dame on Saturday, which dropped to seventh with the loss.

The Oregon Ducks (6-1) sit at sixth in the nation while the Irish (6-1) dropped two spots to seventh. Michigan State (6-1), Georgia (6-1), and TCU (6-1) finish out the top-10 teams.

Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and Stanford all fell from the AP Top-25 Poll after week seven.

Brian Kelly Focused on Handing FSU a Loss

Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Fifth ranked Notre Dame will get all they can handle from the second ranked Seminoles on Saturday.

Both teams come into the game at 6-0, but Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is currently under another investigation, this time having to deal with autographs that he signed.

Even with the investigation under way, Irish head coach Brian Kelly is preparing his team for Winston to be at quarterback.

"[They have] obviously 22 straight games, Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback, but it's not just the quarterback. This is a deep football team. Offensive line I think is where I would start. One of the best offensive lines I've seen in some time," Kelly said . "I remember going against them three years ago, it was a freshman laden, young offensive line, extremely talented. Now it's a veteran group. So I think that that's probably what really stands out to me."

Kelly also credited the work of the FSU offensive players this season.

"[They have] outstanding wide receivers, great skill, whether you're talking about either receiver, [Christian] Greene, vertical depth, vertical play is the thing that concerns you about them. They can go and get the football. [Nick] O'Leary at the tight end position, depth at the running back," Kelly continued.  "[They are] just a well balanced offense across the board. Defensively, athletic, physical, great corner play. I think led by [Ronald] Darby. Outstanding player, great speed, great make up speed, can play the ball. Again, that's why they're the defending national champions."

"Playing at their place will be a great challenge. It's the first time on the road for us, so we'll have to play in that kind of environment," he added.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC.

FSU Suspends Jameis Winston for First Half of Clemson Game

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has been suspended for the first half of Saturday's game against Clemson for yelling an obscene sexual phrase on campus Tuesday.

Winston will also undergo "internal discipline" regarding this matter.

"As the university's most visible ambassadors, student-athletes at Florida State are expected to uphold at all times high standards of integrity and behavior that reflect well upon themselves, their families, coaches, teammates, the Department of Athletics and Florida State University," FSU's joint statement said. "Student-athletes are expected to act in a way that reflects dignity and respect for others."

Winston allegedly stood on a table and began to shout obscenities that were mimicking a popular video on the Internet.

"First of all, I want to apologize to the university, my coaches and to my teammates," Winston said. "I'm not a 'me' person, but in that situation, it was a selfish act, and that's not how you do things around here.

"I want to apologize to my teammates because I have now made a selfish act for them. That's all," he concluded.

Sophmore Sean Maguire will start the first half against Clemson.
