(7) Michigan State Holds Off (10) Georgia

Mitchell Layton/Getty Images(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) --  Denzel Valentine scored 16 points and went 6-for-6 at the free throw line in the final 30 seconds to help Michigan State beat Georgia 70-63 on Friday in the NCAA Tournament's round of 64.

Travis Trice scored 15 points and Branden Dawson had a strong second half for the Spartans (24-11), who answered a push from the Bulldogs with a poised run to take back control of the game.

Valentine's free throws were critical as Georgia (21-12) rallied to make it a one-possession game in a finish that at one point had Spartans longtime coach Tom Izzo turning and punching the scorer's table in fury.

Still, Michigan State did enough to hang on, showing at least glimpses of the experience from playing in 18 straight NCAA Tournaments.

Michigan State will take on (2) Virginia or (15) Belmont in the Round of 32.

(16) Georgia Tech Take Down (9) Georgia, 30-24 in Overtime

Thinkstock(ATHENS, Ga.) -- In what might be the program's best win of the year, 16th ranked Georgia Tech defeated 9th ranked Georiga 30-24 in overtime.

This was the Yellow Jackets' first win over Georgia since 2008 and only the second in the last 14 seasons.

"I have a lot of respect for Georgia's program," said Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson. "That makes it even that much more impressive for us to be able to come in here and get a win."

While Yellow Jackets' quarterback Justin Thomas had a tough game, completing just 6 of 16 passes for 64 yards and one touchdown, the running game powered Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Running back Zach Laskey carried the ball 26 times for 140 yards while scoring three touchdowns while teammate Synjyn Days ran for 94 yards on just 16 carries.

"We kind of felt like we had them where we wanted," Laskey said. "So this year it was special, especially for the seniors."

With the win, Georgia Tech improved to 10-2 while Georgia now sits at 9-3.

Mark Richt: Auburn Has Us 'by One Game'

iStockphoto(ATHENS, Ga.) -- A win over Auburn could give Georgia enough to take home the SEC East title.

They hold the tie breaker because of a 34-0 win at Missouri on Oct. 11. They'll also need Missouri to lose one of their final three games.

"We've been playing 117 times. They've got us by one game," Georgia head coach Mark Richt said. "Even the point differential is less than one point per game after 118 years, it's been that close."

Auburn is 2-1 on the road this year while Georgia is 4-0 at home.

"We're looking forward to being home for the first time in 42 days," Richt said. "We're looking forward to playing some exciting football to get our fans excited too."

Georgia running back Todd Gurley will be back in action on Saturday when his team takes on the ninth-ranked Auburn Tigers (7-2). He hasn't played in a game since Oct. 4 after he admitted to taking more than $3,000 over a two-year period for signing autographs.

Georgia Running Back Todd Gurley's Suspension Now Over

Scott Cunningham/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- After serving a four-game suspension, Georgia running back Todd Gurley is now eligible to return to the team.

Prior to his suspension, Gurley was seen as a Heisman Trophy finalist after dominating on the field. In five games this season, the junior back ran for 773 yards on just 94 attempts (8.2 yards per carry) while scoring eight touchdowns.

Gurley's replacement, Nick Chubb has played very well since taking over the starting job. He has 143 or more yards in each of his past four games as the starter.

Still, there's no word on who will start this Saturday, when the 20th ranked Georgia will take on 3rd ranked Auburn.

"We haven't even talked about that yet," Georgia head coach Mark Richt said. "Obviously, both those guys will play and we'll see how Sony is doing. I think he came out of the game pretty good, too. I wouldn't be surprised to see more than just Nick and Todd in the ballgame at that running back position. Early in the year we did a good job of giving guys reps and hopefully we can continue to do that."

NCAA: Gurley Must Sit Two More Games

Scott Cunningham/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Georgia running back Todd Gurley must sit out two more games for taking more than $3,000 from multiple parties for autographs, the NCAA ruled on Wednesday.

Gurley has already sat out two games and is eligible to return on Nov. 15 against Auburn.

The University issued a statement on Wednesday and said that they plan to appeal the decision "immediately."

Gurley was indefinitely suspended Oct. 9 while the school investigated allegations that he received improper benefits for his autograph.

The Bulldogs (6-1) have won both games without Gurley and will take on Florida on Saturday.
