Ohio State Cruises Past Indiana, Clinches Big Ten Title Berth

Kirk Irwin/Getty Images(COLUMBUS, Ohio) -- (6) Ohio State clinched a Big Ten title berth in their 42-27 win over Indiana on Saturday.

Buckeyes running back Jalin Marshall scored four second-half touchdowns, including a 54-yard punt return in the third quarter.

Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett hit Marshall for the other three touchdowns and finished with four touchdown passes of his own and 302 yards.

"We're conference division champions, we've won a bunch of games (nine) in a row," said Meyer. "We have some work to do. Sometimes in college football, things don't go exactly as scripted."

Ohio State will wait on the winner of Minnesota and Wisconsin next week to decide their opponent for the title.

In the meantime, the win could increase their chances of getting one of the top spots in the College Football Playoff rankings that will be released on Tuesday.

Big Ten Conference Undergoes Divisional Realignment

David Dermer/ Diamond Images/ Getty Images(NEW YORK) --  The Big Ten conference underwent more changes this weekend, with the schools approving new East and West divisions for the 2014 season.

The schools' presidents and chancellors voted unanimously to approve the recommendations during a conference call on Sunday morning.

Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, along with new members Maryland and Rutgers will make up the Big Ten East division.

The Big Ten West will include: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin.

"We thought the geography was a good way to bind the conference together," Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany said. "We also wanted to preserve as much tradition as we could, and we do that through the protection of the rivalries. Everybody will play everybody at least once in a four-year cycle, even though it's a bigger conference."

Each team will also have a nine-game conference schedule beginning in 2016.

Indiana Stuns Michigan For Big Ten Title

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images(ANN ARBOR, MI) --  Cody Zeller scored with 13 seconds left to give No. 2 Indiana a 72-71 victory over No. 7 Michigan on Sunday, as the Hoosiers win the Big Ten championship.

It was the first outright Big Ten title in two decades for the Hoosiers (26-5, 14-4), who were down by five points in the final minute of play.

The Wolverines (25-6, 12-6) could not ice the game from the free-throw line, allowing the Hoosiers to come back and take the lead in the final seconds.

"We've been working on that all year, closing out games," said Zeller.  He led the Hoosiers with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

With the loss, Michigan fell to fourth place in the Big Ten thanks to Sunday victories by Michigan State and Ohio State.  Trey Burke scored 20 points for the Wolverines.

The Hoosiers finish the regular-season with a 5-0 record against top-10 teams.
