Sources: Dwight Howard to Lakers Deal Complete

Sam Greenwood/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Dwight Howard saga may be put to rest; a source with direct knowledge of the four-team deal confirmed to ESPN.com's Marc Stein Thursday night that Orlando will send Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The other two teams involved are the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers.  The Nuggets will receiver forward Andre Iguodala from the 76ers, and in return the Lakers would send center Andrew Bynum along with Jason Richardson from Orlando to Philadelphia.  The Magic will get Aaron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevi, and one protected future first-round pick from each of the other three teams.

In addition, the Magic will be getting other pieces, including 76ers No. 1 draft pick Moe Harkless, a source told Stein.

Sources also told Stein that a trade call with the league office has been scheduled for Friday to secure the necessary NBA approval that would make the deal official.

The Howard deal would mean a potential star-powered Lakers lineup of Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, and Metta World Peace, the artist formally known as Ron Artest.

Nash was acquired in a sign-and-trade deal in July from Phoenix.

Pacers Vanquish Magic 105-87, Move onto Next Round

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Pacers received 25 points from forward Danny Granger as they conquered the Orlando Magic 105-87, winning their first round playoff series in five games.

The Pacers hadn't won a playoff series since 2005, and no player on the current roster has won a playoff series as a Pacer.

"I'm just so happy for our fans," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "They've endured a lot those years when we struggled. To finally see us come back and have a winning team again and somebody that has a chance to do something special this year. That's what they deserve. Pacers basketball is back."

The Magic lead 71-69 going into the fourth quarter, but the Pacers outscored them 36-16 the rest of the way.

The Pacers will now face the winner of the Miami Heat-New York Knicks series. The Heat currently lead that series 3-1.

Magic Hands the Bulls A Rare Home Defeat

Christian Petersen/Getty Images(CHICAGO) -- Coming off a loss to the low ranked Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday, the Orlando Magic were determined to prove that they are among the Eastern Conference's best teams as they took on Eastern Conference leader Chicago Bulls. Even though the Bulls had the second-best home record in the East, the Magic were able to defeat Chicago 99-94.

As usual, Magic All-Star center Dwight Howard led the way for Orlando as he scored 29 points, pulled down 18 rebounds and blocked three shots. Howard, along with Hedo Turkoglu, Ryan Anderson, and Jason Richardson all scored in double figures while Jameer Nelson and J.J. Reddick added nine points of their own.

"We stepped up tonight and everybody played great," Howard said after the game. "I think it was our defense that got us the early lead in the game. We forced a couple turnovers and we were able to run and get easy buckets."

With the win, the Magic improved to 26-16 and padded their lead over the Philadelphia 76ers for the third seed in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Bulls fell to 33-9, but still hold the top seed in the East.

Jim Davis/The Boston Globe via Getty Images(MILWAUKEE) -- Orlando Magic guard Jason Richardson hit nine 3-pointers to help lead the Magic (17-11) to a 99-94 victory over the Bucks (12-15).

Richardson ended the night with season high 31 points, including 28 in the second half.

The win closes the Magic's gap to a half game behind the Pacers for the fifth seed in Eastern Conference. They will get a chance to inch closer to that five seed Monday, when they host the Timberwolves.
