Marquez Knocks Out Pacquiao in Six

Al Bello/Getty Images(LAS VEGAS) -- Juan Manuel Marquez made sure there was no doubt he won this fight. Marquez knocked out Manny Pacquiao with seconds left in the sixth round, giving Marquez his first victory over the Pacquiao in four attempts.

In Marquez's first three meetings with Pacquiao, the 39-year-old Mexican was 0-2-1. All of the fights came down to the judges, and many of the results were controversial.

"I looking for the knockout," Marquez said after the match. "A knock out come in, and I feel very happy."

Pacquiao actually knocked Marquez down in the fifth round, and was ahead 47-46 on three scorecards at the end of the fifth round. But in the sixth round, Marquez landed a perfect right hand into the middle of Pacquiao's face, knocking the Pacman out for good.

"I never expected that punch," Pacquiao said. "He got me a good one."

Even in the loss Pacquiao still made over $20 million.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Released from Jail

FREDERIC J. BROWN/AFP/GettyImages(LAS VEGAS) -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. was released from a Las Vegas jail on Friday after serving two months of a three-month sentence in a misdemeanor domestic battery case.

Boxing fans may still be hoping to see a Manny Pacquiao - Mayweather Jr. fight, but it will no longer be for the WBO welterweight title after Timothy Bradley Jr. took the title on June 9.

Still, while in prison Mayweather's lawyers and physician said jail food and water didn't meet Mayweather's dietary needs, and lack of exercise space in a cramped cell of fewer than 98 square feet threatened his health and fitness. Fans wonder if his time served severely affected his health.

"Thanks for all the support and God Bless to everyone who wrote," Mayweather Jr. wrote on his Twitter account on Friday.

Police say Mayweather was kept separate for his protection from the other 3,200 inmates in the downtown Las Vegas facility.

Promoters for Pacquiao are planning a fight Nov. 10 at the MGM Grand Garden arena in Las Vegas, Athletic Commission executive Keith Kizer said on Friday. No opponent has been announced just yet.

Judges Speak on Bradley's Victory Over Pacquiao

Jeff Bottari/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The boxing world is still buzzing after the fight between Timothy Bradley and Manny Pacquiao. In a controversial decision, Bradley won the fight via split decision despite an uproar that it was in fact Packquiao who won the fight. While the judges decision has come under fire in recent days, they stand behind their decision.

"I thought Bradley gave Pacquiao a boxing lesson," Duane Ford told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I thought a lot of the rounds were close. Pacquiao missed a lot of punches and I thought he was throwing wildly."

"I'm looking for effective aggressiveness," said Jerry Roth, who scored in favor of Pacquiao. "I thought Pacquiao won a lot of the early rounds, and I thought Bradley come on in the end. That's why I gave Bradley the last three rounds. But I still thought Pacquiao had done enough to win."

On paper it looks like Pacquiao may have had the edge over Bradley. Pacquiao 190 punches compared to Bradley's 109. Pacquiao also landed 38.5% of his punches compared to Bradley's 27.7%.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission's executive director, Keith Kizer, said Ford and fellow judge C.J. Ross won't face any discipline.

Mayweather Jr. Calls Out Manny Pacquiao

ESPN2 Friday Night Fights(NEW YORK) --  If there was ever a question who Floyd Mayweather Jr. wants to fight on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, he made it even clearer on Tuesday.

On his personal Twitter account, Mayweather Jr. tweeted: "Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5 and give the world what they want to see," read Mayweather's first tweet.

Then he followed with: "My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk." He was referencing his sentence from his guilty plea on a reduced battery domestic violence charge and no contest to two harassment charges, stemming from a fight with his ex-girlfriend in front of their two children.

Pacquiao did not respond but his promoter, Top Rank’s Bob Arum, told the Los Angeles Times that May 5 doesn’t work.

"June 9 is perfect," Arum told The Times from the Philippines, where he is meeting with Pacquiao to talk about his next opponent. "May 5 is out, that's impossible."

Mayweather Jr. is scheduled to begin serving his 87-day sentence starting June 1.

Pacquiao Wins Close Decision

Jay Reilly/Getty(LAS VEGAS) -- Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2) defeated Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6-1) in a 12-round majority decision Saturday night, to retain his WBO welterweight championship. When the decision was announced, the sell-out crowd at MGM Grand in Las Vegas booed and showered the ring with debris.

Marquez enter the fight as a 7-1 underdog, but it would prove to be a much closer fight as the 38-year-old native of Mexico would give Pacquiao his all.

“Well I expected that. I won the fight,” Pacquiao said of the decision. “It’s very clear. I blocked most of the punches of Marquez.”

This was the third fight between the two, with Pacquiao holding the advantage with two victories and a draw.

Is a Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight Finally in the Works?

JOHN GURZINSKI/AFP/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The dream boxing match-up between WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather and WBO champion Manny Pacquiao could actually take place.

Boxing advisor Leonard Ellerbe told ESPN.com that Mayweather is eyeing his next fight to take place on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. While Mayweather's opponent has yet to be confirmed, Ellerbe gave boxing fans a pretty good idea as to who it might be.

"We're looking to make the biggest fight possible and everyone knows what that fight is, the little fella."

Ellerbe was likely talking about the short-statured Pacquiao. The fighter and Mayweather are considered the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport of boxing, and fight fans have been craving this dream match-up for years. The two have tried to make this happen before, but nothing ever came to fruition.
