Nets Dominate Third Quarter to Plow Past Heat

TIMOTHY A. CLARY/AFP/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Brooklyn Nets outscored the Miami Heat 26-14 in the third quarter to take control of the game and eventually win it 104-90 Saturday night, to take Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinal.

"To sum it up, they outplayed us. They outplayed us, particularly in that whole second half," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

The Heat now lead the series 2-1, although the Nets broke Miami's eight-game postseason winning streak.

"We wanted to show them we're not scared of them," Nets veteran Paul Pierce said after scoring 14 in the win. "Everybody's coming out and saying 'the series is over,' talking about us getting swept. I'm hearing whispers and stuff and I'm like, no need to panic."

And the Nets didn't. LeBron James scored 16 points in the first quarter but only 12 after that. Brooklyn was also hot from 3-point land hitting 15 of 25 from downtown.

Joe Johnson led Brooklyn with 19 points and Andre Blatche added 15 and 10 rebounds

Game 4 is Monday night in Brooklyn. Tip-off scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern.
