Steve Dykes/Getty Images(SEATTLE) -- It wasn't pretty, but the Seattle Seahawks were able to get the job done.

Steven Hauschka drilled a 27-yard field goal in overtime, and the Seahawks overcame a 21-point deficit to defeat the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-24 on Sunday.

"That was a huge win. You think about the deficit we were under and to be able to comeback in that fashion ... that's big time," quarterback Russell Wilson said.

Trailing 21-7 at halftime, Wilson led the Seahawks (8-1) on three scoring drives to tie the game at 24.  He hit Doug Baldwin for a 10-yard touchdown pass with 1:51 to play in regulation to force overtime.

The Buccaneers (0-8) received a stellar effort from rookie Mike Glennon.  He completed 17 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.  Mike James rushed for a career-high 158 yards filling in for the injured Doug Martin.

Panthers Not Underestimating 0-6 Buccaneers

Scott Boehm/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Carolina Panthers (3-3) will travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers on Thursday night.

Carolina is averaging 23.2 points a game and head coach Ron Rivera isn't looking past the winless Bucs.

"You don't count records when you play teams," Rivera said.  "We've got to play hard and play to win.  We're not going to overlook this by any stretch of the imagination."

Carolina's defense is allowing just 13.8 points a game and the team is looking to go above the .500 mark for the first time since 2008.

"Not only just being over .500, we're being 1-0 in the division, that's what really counts," Newton said.  "For us it's not only a game that's a must-win, it's even a must, must-win being a divisional south opponent."

The Buccaneers are still looking for their first win of the season and hope the crowd at home will help them.

"I would imagine it'd be pretty good," Bucs quarterback Mike Glennon said of the home crowd.  "It's a nationally televised game, night games are always fun to play in.  I would expect a great atmosphere."

ESPN: Buccaneers Bench QB Josh Freeman for Mike Glennon

Marc Serota/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Josh Freeman era appears to be over in Tampa Bay. According to ESPN, Tampa Bay has decided to bench Freeman in favor of rookie quarterback Mike Glennon.

"This league is about finding a franchise quarterback, and with Josh's roller-coaster career, we don't feel he's that guy," a team source told ESPN.

The team is apparently making the decision now to give Glennon adequate time to learn and develop. After their game on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, they enter their bye week. Head coach Greg Schiano didn't want Glennon to anticipate his first start for two weeks and overprepare.

After a promising start to his career, Freeman has regressed over the past few years. In three games this season, Freeman is completing just 45.7% of his passes and has a 59.3 quarterback rating. He's thrown 42 interceptions in his last 34 games.

Meanwhile, Glennon was the team's third-round pick in the 2013 draft. He was the third quarterback taken in the draft, and will also be the third rookie quarterback to start this season.

Buccaneers Like What They've Seen from Rookie QB Mike Glennon

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Even though Josh Freeman has been the full-time starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the past three seasons, he might have some competition in rookie quarterback Mike Glennon.

The team selected Glennon in the third round of last month's draft, and has been praised by the team's coaching staff since. Head coach Greg Schiano recently went as far as to say he reminds him of Ravens Super Bowl winning quarterback Joe Flacco.

"It's not like we're looking to find a starter," Schiano said via Dan Pompei of the National Football Post. "But competition is competition. Mike Glennon is a fierce competitor. I knew that when he was coming out of high school. Now being able to work with him a little, you can see it on the practice field."

Schiano has also said that Freeman won't just be given the starting quarterback job.

Last season, Freeman threw for 4,065 yards but completed just 54.% of his passes and tossed just 17 touchdowns.
