Ambrose Wins at Watkins Glen

BananaStock(WATKINS GLEN, N.Y.) -- Marcos Ambrose competes in one Nationwide race per year, and he usually wins it. That was the story on Saturday as Ambrose took the checkered flag at Watkins Glen for a fourth time in his career.

Ambrose won the race for the fourth time in as many starts, the first since winning his third in a row in 2010. The 38-year old won three in a row from 2008-2010 before missing the last three because he failed to find a sponsor.

It was an up-and-down day for Ambrose and his crew. After starting the race in a heated battle with Kyle Busch, the No. 9 crew fell well off the pace but was able to rebound and hold off Busch for the win. The Australian's win was his fifth Nationwide victory, all of which have been on road courses.

Joey Logano finished third behind both Ambrose and Busch while Brad Keselowski and Matt Kenseth finished out the top five. Ambrose now looks for a weekend sweep as he will start second in the Sprint Cup race on Sunday.

Elliott Victorious at Chicagoland

Todd Warshaw/Getty Image(JOLIET, Ill.) -- Chase Elliott needs no adjustment period to new tracks. In his rookie season, the 18-year-old has already won three times on the Nationwide circuit, including a dominating win at Chicagoland on Saturday.

Elliott led 85 laps, taking the EnjoyIllinois.com 300 ahead of Trevor Bayne and Kyle Larson. The win puts the rookie back atop the points standings, leading Reagan Smith by seven points.

"We had an awesome race going," Elliott said. "I try to make the most of my practice laps. They gave me a good car. That gives me time to learn the track in practice."

The son of former NASCAR champion Bill Elliott, Chase has also picked up victories at Texas and Darlington, his first trip to either track.

Kyle Busch Wins Nationwide Race at Dover

Chris Graythen/Getty Images for NASCAR(DOVER, Del.) -- Kyle Busch is one win away this weekend at Dover from a clean sweep after he won the Nationwide Series race on Saturday.

Busch followed his Truck Series win with a dominant performance to take home the checkered flag and will set his sights on Sunday's race.

"I do it for the pure love of the sport and just wanting to be out there," Busch said. "I'll keep doing it as long as we can do it."

Busch led 124 of 200 laps for his 66th career victory in the N'wide Series.

"I've got a 134 of 'em now and none of them mean nothing," Busch said of his 134 career wins in all the series. "Hopefully, someday, the big ones come."

The last time Busch had a three-race sweep was in 2010 at Bristol.

"It seems like the last one is always the hardest one," he said. "That's due to just the competition."

Elliott Sadler Wins the Aaron's 312 at Talladega

Sean Gardner/Getty Images(TALLADEGA, Ala.) --After a three-lap shootout to the checkered flag, Elliott Sadler won the Aaron's 312 on Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway.

Chris Buescher ran a close second, with Regan Smith, David Ragan, and Sam Hornish Jr. rounding out the top five.

The race was stopped for over nine minutes after a six-car accident that started when Jeffrey Clement was turning into an outside wall and his car shot back into traffic.

There were three laps remaining on the restart, and Sadler had to pull away from the pack in order to hang on for the win.

"Everybody always asks me about flipping at Talladega," Sadler said in Victory Lane. "Now we won one at Talladega, man, this feels a lot better."

It was the 10th Nationwide Series victory for Sadler, and his first since 2012.

Kyle Larson Earns First Career Nationwide Victory

Jerry Markland/Getty Images Sport (FONTANA, Calif.) --  21-year-old Kyle Larson won his first Nationwide race Saturday, holding off Veterans Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch in an exciting finish at Fontana.

With the victory, Larson became the first California native to win a Nationwide race at Auto Club Speedway.

Harvick ran second, finishing just 0.342 seconds behind Larson.  Busch, Joey Logano, and Elliott Sadler rounded out the top five.

"Those last 11, 12 laps were the longest laps of my life," Larson said. "I've been so close to winning so many times, but the fashion we did it in was extra special."

Larson had finished second in five previous Nationwide races, but never won. He was edged by Busch at Bristol last week.

NASCAR Nationwide Series action shifts to Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, April 4.

Kyle Busch Wins Rain-Shortened Nationwide Race at Phoenix

Chris Graythen/Getty Images for NASCAR(PHOENIX) --  Kyle Busch was victorious in the rain-shortened Blue Jeans Go Green 200 on Saturday.  The race was delayed for over two hours with 32 laps remaining.  It was later called with Busch out in front.

NASCAR sent out the blowers in an effort to get the track dry, but another round of storms moved across the area, soaking the track and ending the race.

Busch led for 155 out of 168 laps to earn his record 64th Nationwide Series victory overall and 10th at Phoenix International Raceway.

"We've been very dominant here in the past and led a lot of laps today," Busch said. "I felt like we could have won it if it was rain-shortened or whether we went the whole distance."

Kevin Harvick finished second, with Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, and Matt Kenseth rounding out the top five.

Busch also swept the two Nationwide races at Phoenix in 2013, overcoming a pit-road speeding penalty to end a 24-race winless streak in the series in the spring and leading 169 laps in the fall for his 12th Nationwide victory of the season.
