Heat Eliminate Celtics, 100-88

Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images(MIAMI) --  The Boston Celtics fought a good fight, but when the dust settled the Miami Heat had won Game 7 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals, 100-88, sending the Heat to their second NBA finals in two years.

The game was close until the end. The Celtics didn't trail from the middle of the first quarter to the end of the third. They had a one point lead with eight minutes left, but then Miami's stars came to play.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh scored a combined 20 points in those final eight minutes to close out the game.

LeBron James led all scorers with 31 points. He also added 12 boards in the win.

"Everybody was in tune today," James said. "We wanted to give our fans a big win tonight and we were able to do that. Everybody had a big part of this win."

Chris Bosh scored 19 points from off the bench and hit a career-high three 3-pointers.

LeBron James talked about the importance of Bosh.

"Every shot, every defensive play, every defensive rebound, his energy and his effort....we missed him," James said of Bosh who missed nine playoff games with an oblique injury. "We're happy to have him back at the right time."

Rajon Rondo had his fourth triple-double of the postseason in the loss.

The Celtics loss may mark the end of the original "Big Three" (Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen)

"Overall, I don't know if I ever had a group like this," Celtics head coach Doc Rivers said. "I had a group in Orlando that I'm found of, the heart and hustle group. They're very similar to that group."

The Heat now play the Oklahoma City Thunder for the right to hold the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

Game 1 is Tuesday in Oklahoma City. Tip-off is at approximately 9PM ET.

Celtics Bump the Heat 94-90, Head to Boston Up 3-2

Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images(MIAMI) -- The Boston Celtics and Miami Heat traded punches all night, but when it was all done, the Celtics walked away with a 94-90 victory, giving them a 3-2 advantage in the NBA Eastern Conference finals.

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 26 points.

"Tonight we just fought...we fought," Garnett told reporters after the game. "We knew what the circumstances were coming down here. Everybody was locked in."

With just under a minute left in the game, Celtics up one, Boston captain Paul Pierce hit a three pointer. Afterwards many people were calling it the shot of the game.

"You got to play on instincts," Pierce said when describing the late game play. "I saw him back up (LeBron), it gave me a step...I knew it was in my range. The shot clock was winding down and I just took the shot. You know being in those moments so many times and understanding what your team needs...and being able to get the best shot for us. I thought that was the best shot, and I was able to knock it down."

LeBron James led all scorers with 30 points.

"We wouldn't want to be in this situation," James said. "But like I said, we never get to high or get to low in this series. We had an opportunity to come home and take a lead but we didn't, so we have to go up to Boston and win a game."

Game 6 is Thursday in Boston. Tip-off is at approximately 8:30 PM ET.

Celtics Outlast Heat in Overtime 93-91, Tie Series at Two

Jim Davis/The Boston Globe via Getty Images(BOSTON) -- The Boston Celtics bent, but they did not break. After leading by as many as 18 late in the first half, the Celtics had to go into overtime to beat the Miami Heat 93-91, tying the Eastern Conference finals at two.

"The first half was flawless," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "It was as good as maybe we've had. We got completely away from it....we really did. And then Miami just got into us. I thought they physically got into our air space and took us out of everything."

The Heat's LeBron James led all scorers with 29 points, but fouled out in overtime. It was the first time James fouled out of a game as a member of the Heat.

"I don't foul out," LeBron said after the game. "Sometimes if I'm going to foul out, you know that sixth foul, I wish I earned it. I wish it would've actually been a foul on me."

Paul Pierce who led the Celtics with 23 points, also fouled out. He had a different take on James having to make an early exit.

"You look at the guy, he never really has a lot of fouls, but we were aggressive against him tonight," Pierce said. "We stepped up twice and took charges. We drove when he was guarding the ball. That's what you have to do."

Heat guard Dwyane Wade had a chance to win the game on the final shot of overtime, but the ball bounced out of the hoop.

"Red wasn't going to let that go in. Not in the Boston Garden," Doc Rivers said of the late Celtics coach Red Auerbach.

Game 5 will be Tuesday night in Miami. Tip-off is at approximately 8:30 PM ET.

Heat Overcome Rondo, Beat Celtics 115-111 in Overtime

Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images(MIAMI) -- Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo scored 44 points, dished out 10 assists and grabbed 8 rebounds, but it still wasn't enough as the Miami Heat topped the Celtics in overtime of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals, 115-111.

"Rondo is definitely one of the best point guards, one of the best players that we have in this league," Heat forward LeBron James, who scored 34 points in the win, said after the game. "He showcased that tonight. He made play, after play after play. He felt like he had to put his team on his back to try and get this win, and he did everything he could."

The Heat now have a 2-0 series lead, but that doesn't seem to bother Rondo.

"We have the next two at home," Rondo said. "We had two tough losses on the road but it's a seven game series. We're playing very well at home as of late...so I'm looking forward too it."

Game 3 is in Boston on Friday night.
