Jaguars Claim Bernard Pierce Off Waivers

IStockPhoto/Thinkstock(JACKSONVILLE) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed running back Bernard Pierce off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens, who cut the fourth-year player following his DUI arrest on Wednesday.

Pierce rushed for 1,334 yards and five touchdowns in his four-year career with the Ravens, including 532 yards as a rookie in 2012 to help the Ravens win the Super Bowl.

He was supposed to split time with Justin Forsett and rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro in 2014 after Ray Rice was suspended. However, he was benched in the season opener for fumbling and eventually lost the job to Forsett, who ran for 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Jaguars did not release a statement regarding Pierce other than announcing that they had claimed him off waivers. General manager David Caldwell was unable to be reached for comment.

Browns Add Dwayne Bowe

Johnathan Daniel/Getty Images(CLEVELAND) -- The Cleveland Browns have reached an agreement with free agent wide receiver Dwayne Bowe on a two-year deal, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Bowe visited Cleveland last week and had a productive meeting with the staff. He has a relationship with general manager Ray Farmer, who previously worked in Kansas City's personnel department.

He finished his Chiefs career with 532 receptions for 7,155 yards and 44 touchdowns. He accomplished this despite playing with a collection of mostly journeyman quarterbacks and others who never established themselves in the NFL.

Bowe's best season was 2011, when he caught 81 passes for 1,159 yards and led the NFL with 15 receiving touchdowns.

Cowboys Sign Greg Hardy to 1-Year Deal

Doug Pensinger/Getty Images(DALLAS) -- The Dallas Cowboys have signed defensive end Greg Hardy to a one-year, $11.3 million deal that could be worth up to $13 million, according to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter.

Hardy could face a league suspension for violating the NFL's domestic conduct policy. However, an NFL spokesman told ESPN that Hardy's situation remains under review and that the league will have a resolution on his status as soon as possible.

Hardy was a 2013 Pro Bowl selection after leading the Panthers with 15 sacks, tying a team single-season record.  He started 39 games between 2011 and 2013 and has 34 career sacks.

Bernard Pierce Cut by Ravens

Scoot Boehm/Getty Images(BALTIMORE) -- The Baltimore Ravens cut running back Bernard Pierce hours after he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol early Wednesday.

Pierce was the third Ravens player to be arrested this offseason, and the Ravens have now cut all three within a day of learning of their off-field incidents.  Pierce failed a field sobriety test after being pulled over near the Baltimore beltway just before 2 a.m. ET on Wednesday and he was arrested, according to Baltimore County police.

Pierce was a third-round pick by the Ravens in 2012, and he has averaged fewer than 4 yards per carry the past two seasons for the team.

Browns Sign Cornerback Tramon Williams

Johnathan Daniel/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The impressive secondary of the Cleveland Browns just added another playmaker, as the team agreed on a contract with former Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams.

"Tramon is a really good and consistent player," Browns general manager Ray Farmer said in a statement. "He has had success in this league because he's a pro's pro who believes great preparation leads to great performance. We are very happy to be able to sign a player of his caliber to our secondary."

Williams had spent his entire eight-year career with the Packers, but joins a Browns team that had three members of its secondary -- cornerback Joe Haden, safety Donte Whitner, and safety Tashaun Gipson -- make the Pro Bowl in 2014.

"It's going to be awesome. I'll be glad to join those guys and help those guys with whatever they need," Williams said in a statement. "I see where these guys are going and I think I can help them go to where they want to go. They had a great defense last year with a lot of young guys on the team. I'm a veteran guy and I hope I can take them to another level."

Williams has only missed one game during his career, and recorded 71 tackles in 2014.

Tim Tebow Works Out for Eagles, but Team Doesn't Plan to Sign Him

Jared Wickham/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Tebowmania experienced a sudden jolt on Monday as Tim Tebow surprised the NFL world by working out for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite the workout, ESPN is reporting the Eagles have no plans to sign the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Tebow last appeared in an NFL regular season game when he was with the New York Jets back in 2012. He did spend time with the New England Patriots in 2013, but was cut before the regular season started.

A true media magnet, Tebow was one of the greatest college football players of all time while he was with the Florida Gators.

He was a first-round pick by the Denver Broncos back in 2010, and even led the team to a division title in 2011. Despite his success, his erratic and unorthodox style never quite fit in the NFL, and he's been unable to gain many opportunities to continue his pro career at the quarterback position.

Tebow completed 47.9 percent of his passes for 2,422 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions during his pro career, while rushing for 989 yards and 12 scores.

Chiefs Agree on Deal to Bring back Safety Ron Parker

Jason O. Watson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- After testing the free agent market, defensive back Ron Parker has agreed on a deal to remain with the Kansas City Chiefs.

ESPN is reporting that Parker's deal with the Chiefs is for five years and worth $30 million.

Parker's new contract is quite impressive considering his NFL career prior to this past season. He came into the league as undrafted free agent in 2011 out of Newberry College. He played for the Raiders, Seahawks, and Panthers before landing with the Chiefs in 2013.

Before the 2014 season, Parker had just 20 career tackles. He was forced into the starting lineup once safety Eric Berry needed to be place on injured reserve after he was diagnosed with lymphoma.

Parker wound up being one of the team's most valuable defenders as he racked up 94 tackles, 1.0 sack, 1 forced fumble and 1 interception.

Reggie Bush Bound for 49ers

Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images(SAN FRANCISCO) -- According to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, San Diego native, and former USC star Reggie Bush is set to return to California.  Bush has agreed to sign with the San Francisco 49ers.

Bush played in 11 games last season, with only 76 carries for 297 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 40 receptions for 253 yards. Bush kept trying to come back throughout the season but kept getting reinjured.

Bush was drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the No. 2 pick in the 2006 draft. Bush was a productive player when healthy and won the 2010 Super Bowl with the Saints, however, he never fully lived up to expectations in New Orleans after a successful college career with the Trojans. He won the 2005 Heisman Trophy, but later returned it after USC was sanctioned for NCAA violations during his time in college.

Steelers Agree on New Five-Year Contract with Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL)(PITTSBURGH) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have taken measures to make sure quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will spend his entire career with the club as the two sides have agreed on a new five-year contract.

Big Ben had going into the final year of his eight-year contract he signed back in 2008.

Roethlisberger was drafted 11th overall back in 2004 and since then, he's been among the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He's taken the Steelers to three Super Bowls, winning two of them during his career in the Steel City.

In 2014, Roethlisberger arguably had the best season his career at 32-years-old. He threw for a career-high 4,952 yards, completed a career-high 67.1 percent of his passes, and also threw 32 touchdowns to just nine interceptions.

On Friday, the Steelers also announced they agreed on a contract with free agent running back DeAngelo Williams. Williams had spent the previous nine seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers.

Saints Sign Running Back C.J. Spiller, Trade Wide Reciever Kenny Stills

Stacy Revere/Getty Images(METAIRIE, La.) -- The New Orleans Saints continued their offseason makeover as they've agreed to terms on a contract with former Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller and trading wide receiver Kenny Stills to the Miami Dolphins.

Spiller's deal with the Saints will be four-year contract worth $18 million, with $9 million guaranteed.

A former first round pick, Spiller is a dynamic talent, but has had trouble producing on a consistent basis since the Bills selected him ninth overall in the 2010 draft.

In 2014, Spiller was limited to just nine games and had 425 total yards of offense while scoring just one touchdown.

The Saints dealt Stills to the Dolphins in exchange for a third round draft pick as well as linebacker Dannell Elerbe .

Stills is a promising receiver who in his second NFL season caught 63 passes for 931 yards and three touchdowns.

The Saints have also added cornerback Brandon Browner and Max Unger, traded tight end Jimmy Graham, and cut linebacker Curtis Lofton and running back Pierre Thomas this offseason.
