Lions Acquire NT Haloti Ngata from Ravens

Scott Boehm/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- After losing defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh to the Miami Dolphins, the Detroit Lions struck back by trading with the Baltimore Ravens for Haloti Ngata.

According to ESPN, the Ravens will receive 2015 fourth and fifth-round picks as well as a seventh round selection in exchange for Ngata.

The 31-year-old is in the final season of his contract and will be an $8.5 million cap hit.

Ngata has played all nine of his NFL seasons with the Ravens. During that time, he has compiled 449 tackles, 25.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and five interceptions.

"Haloti is a great player but an even better person," Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh said. "He has been an anchor of our success for many years. We appreciate everything he has done for our organization and the Baltimore community. We wish he and his family nothing but the best."
