Brad Keselowski Speeds To Victory Lane At Kentucky

Geoff Burke/Getty Images for NASCAR(SPARTA, KY.) -- NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Brad Keselowski took home the checkered flag in Saturday night’s running of the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway.

The 28-year-old Keselowski wrecked his primary car during the first lap of Friday’s practice run. Racing with his backup car, the driver of the number 2 grabbed the lead with 55 laps remaining. He would go on to fend off the field, claiming his series leading third victory of the season.

“Just says a lot about everybody on the team, and some of the things we do back at Penske Racing,” Keselowski’s crew chief Paul Wolfe said after the race. “The process that we go through to build our cars.  Knowing that when we bring out a back-up car, there really wasn't any concerns for me.”

Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon rounded out the top five.

Keselowski Staying Put With Penske Racing

Jared C. Tilton/Getty Images for NASCAR(CONCORD, N.C.) -- NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Brad Keselowski is staying put after he agreed to a two-year contract extension with Penske Racingm with a team option for a third year in 2015.

The driver of the No. 2 finished fifth in the points standings last season, with three victories, 10 top-fives and 14 top 10 finishes.

“I didn’t come to Penske racing to move away two or three years later,” Keselowski said. “First thing I said to Roger (Penske) was that. I would say so far we are definitely on task for where I want to be.”

Before his breakout season on the Sprint Cup circuit last year, Keselowski was burning up the track on the Nationwide series, winning the championship in 2010.

Crew chief Paul Wolfe has also re-signed with Penske Racing through the 2015 season.
