Report: Steelers Won't Bring Back Wide Receiver Hines Ward

Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- It looks like one of the greatest players to ever put on a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform has played his final down with the team. According to a report from the NFL Network, the Steelers are being forced to make roster cuts for salary cap reasons, and Ward is the latest casualty.

The 35-year old Ward has spent his entire 14-year career with the Steelers, winning two Super Bowls with the team during that time. He is the Steelers all-time leading receiver. He has caught 1,000 passes for 12,083 yards and 85 touchdowns for his career.

Ward though, has posted on his Facebook that he would be willing to take a pay cut or rework his contract in order to return to the team next season.

Roethlisberger Wants Answers Regarding the Steelers Offense

George Gojkovich/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Under offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, Ben Roethlisberger flourished as he had one of his most productive seasons this past year after throwing for over 4,000 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Unfortunately for Big Ben, Arians will not be back with the team after he claimed that team president Art Rooney II forced him out. Roethlisberger wasn't too pleased over that decision, and he's not holding back on his feelings.

"When I get back, I'm going to go up to Mr. Rooney's office and ask him what he wants from me, what he wants from the offense, because I think that's a viable question for him," Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "He's our owner and our boss, so I would really like to know kind of what he wants and where he sees our offense going because I'd like to tell him where I see us going."

Reports are coming out that Rooney II wants the team go back to the more run-oriented offense that has become synonymous with the team during their history. This season saw a shift towards a more pass-oriented offense. The Steelers ranked tenth in the NFL in passing yards per game, and fourteenth in running yards per game.
