Bull's Gibson Fined For Verbal Abuse

Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson was fined $25,000 for verbal abuse directed at an official during Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinals with the Miami Heat.

Gibson picked up two technical fouls in a row and was then ejected from the game by Scott Foster in the fourth quarter.

"I have a good accord with Scott," Gibson said after the contest. "It's one of those games that's chippy; it's playoff basketball, words are going to be said. I don't mean any harm to Scott. He's a good referee sometimes. Just got to keep pushing and move forward."

The Bulls lost the game, 115-78. It was their worst playoff defeat in franchise history.

No fine was announced for Joakim Noah, who was also ejected in the game.

Lakers Hold Off Raptors, 94-92

Los Angeles Lakers/NBA(TORONTO) -- The Los Angeles Lakers (16-12) lead by 18 points at the half, but found themselves only up four with two minutes to play.

Kobe Bryant would not let his team down on their final game of the Grammy road trip.  He nailed a jumper with 4.2 seconds left to seal the deal and give the Lakers a 94-92 win.  The Lakers went 3-3 on the road trip.

"We're a poor road team, and that's what we need to turn around," Bryant said. "If we could figure out a way to win games on the road, our record would be much, much better."

The Raptors (9-20) had a chance to take the lead with 3.7 seconds left but Rasual Butler failed to inbound the ball and call a timeout which gave the Lakers back the ball with a 93-92 lead.

"I asked (referee Scott Foster) to count out loud and he did," Butler said. "I heard four, I turned to call a timeout and he felt like it was five seconds."
