Eagles Reward LeSean McCoy with Five-Year Extension

Rob Carr/Getty Images(PHILADELPHIA) -- At just 23-years old, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has already established himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL, and the Eagles are making sure he stays in Philadelphia for years to come. The team has rewarded McCoy with a five-year contract extension worth $45 million, $20 million of that will be guaranteed. McCoy's deal makes him the third-highest paid running back in the NFL.

In his third season in the NFL, and second as a full-time starter, McCoy ran for 1,309 yards (fourth in the NFL), 17 rushing touchdowns, and scored 20 touchdowns total. He was named to the NFL's All-Pro team in 2011.

"I love this team, and I'm kind of a hometown kid from Harrisburg which is like an hour and a half away," McCoy said. "Nothing could be better than being here for the long term. Once you kind of realize the feeling of wanting to be here for the long term, we contacted the team and it was a mutual feeling. So, it kicked off from there."

McCoy is just the latest Eagle player to receive an extension this offseason. The team also extended Trent Cole, Todd Herremans, and DeSean Jackson.

DeSean Jackson Reaches New Deal with Eagles

Rob Tringali/SportsChrome/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Wide receiver DeSean Jackson signed a five-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday.

The two-time Pro Bowler has a total of 229 receptions, 4,085 yards, and 21 touchdowns since signing with the Eagles in 2008.  The deal is worth $51 million, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

"We are thrilled to be able to keep one of the NFL's top playmakers in Philadelphia," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "DeSean is a gamebreaker. He has the speed and ability to score from anywhere on the field, and he has proven himself to be a big threat for our offense."

Philadelphia also reached deals with defensive end Trent Cole on a four-year contract extension through 2017 and offensive tackle Todd Herremans on a three-year contract extension through 2016.
