(TAMPA, Fla.) -- Masahiro Tanaka got off to a good start in his career with the New York Yankees.
Tanaka, who left Japan and signed a seven-year, $155 million dollar contract with the Yankees this offseason, pitched two scoreless innings in his spring training debut for the Yankees Saturday.
The 25-year-old right-hander threw 31 pitches, striking out three and walking none in the Yankees' game versus the Phillies.
The game was broadcast live in Japan despite the 3 AM Japanese start time.
