Texans Arian Foster Frustrated, but Understands Lack of Playing Time

Thomas B. Shea/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- For the past few seasons, running back Arian Foster has been one of the biggest weapons on offense for the Houston Texans. That is why he's frustrated with his lack of carries in Week 1.

Foster had 18 carries for 57 yards along with four catches in the team's comeback win over the San Diego Chargers on Monday night. He was still productive, but this is a running back who has averaged nearly 400 touches the past three seasons.

Despite having less touches then he's used to, Foster understands what needs to be done to win games.

"That has to be OK with me," he said. "Like I said, we're chess pieces. Coach makes the final ruling. But as a competitor, I've been in this league, I felt that I've played well throughout my tenure here. You want to be out there. You feel like you've earned that right to be out there. That's just where the frustration comes from."

Meanwhile, backup Ben Tate had 55 rushing yards on nine carries.

Texans' head coach Gary Kubiak has already said he wants Tate to get even more touches in the team's next game against the Tennessee Titans.
