Texans Fear Linebacker Brian Cushing Suffered a Torn ACL

NFL via Getty Images(EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.) -- The Houston Texans may have beaten the New York Jets during Monday Night Football, but for linebacker Brian Cushing, the game was still a loss as he suffered a knee injury.

In the second quarter of the team's 23-17 win over the Jets at Metlife Stadium, Cushing went down after being blocked by Jets lineman Matt Slauson. The team fears his injury may be a torn ACL.

"I don't want to jump the gun," Texans head caoch Gary Kubiak said. "He'll get it looked at when we get home and we'll hope for the best."

"I don't know what happened. They tell me he cut on the play and his foot might have got stuck in the turf," he continued.

If Cushing did tear his ACL, his season would be over. His absence would be a big blow to a Texans defense that is one of the best in the NFL. They rank fourth in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game and fourth in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game.

In 2012, Cushing registered 29 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble.
