(EAST RUTHEFORD, N.J.) -- The Houston Texans continued their strong season on Monday night.
Arian Foster rushed for over 150 yards and the defense picked off New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez twice as part of a 23-17 win at MetLife Stadium.
The win moved the Texans to 5-0, matching the Atlanta Falcons as the only unbeaten teams in the NFL. The victory was also the first for the Texans over the Jets in franchise history.
"Arian stepped up and played huge," quarterback Matt Schaub said. "We're very excited to be 5-0 and get a win on the road." Schaub threw for 209 yards and a first quarter touchdown to tight end Owen Daniels that gave Houston the early lead.
The Jets (2-3) rallied, and pulled to within 20-14 on a 100-yard kickoff return from Joe McKnight. They were driving with under two minutes to play down 23-17, but Sanchez threw his second interception when his pass was tipped off the hands of Jeff Cumberland and fell to Houston's Kareem Jackson.
"You got to give yourself a chance to win and we did that tonight," Sanchez said.
Houston's offense was spearheaded by Foster, who ran for 152 yards on 29 carries and a touchdown.
The Texans will try to remain pefect when they face the Green Bay Packers at home next week.
