James Woodard scored 27 points as the Golden Hurricane earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament with a 69-60 win over Louisiana Tech in the Conference USA tournament championship.

Woodard scored 18 of his 27 points in the second half for Tulsa (21-12), including 7 free throws down the stretch to help hold off Louisiana Tech.

Tulsa is on its way to the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 2003 season.  They will carry an 11-game win streak into the big dance.

The Bulldogs (27-8) were the top seed heading into the tournament, but came up short.  Their NCAA tournament drought now dates back to 1991.
