Watkins Reinjures Ribs in Bills' Preseason Finale

Tom Szczerbowski/Getty Images(ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.) -- Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Sammy Watkins re-injured his ribs in the teams' final preseason game Thursday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Watkins had to leave the game after being hit by Pittsburgh linebacker Ashlee Palmer during a play in the first quarter.

After the hit, Watkins walked back to the huddle but quickly changed his mind and walked off the field to be checked out by team doctors. He did not return to the game.

Watkins, who the Bills selected with the fourth overall pick in this year's draft, had previously bruised his ribs on Aug. 16.

The 6-foot-1, 205 pound Watkins had 101 receptions for 1,464 yards and 12 touchdowns during his final season at Clemson.
