Wisconsin Forward Bruesewitz to Miss 4-6 Weeks

Joe Robbins/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- University of Wisconsin forward Mike Bruesewitz suffered a laceration on his lower right leg in a team workout and will miss the next four to six weeks.

According to University officials, Bruesewitz was injured when he awkwardly collided with the back half of a basketball standard.

A source of says the injury was "gory" and could not be repaired on site by stitches.

The 6-foot-6 Bruesewitz, started in all 36 of the Badgers games as a junior last season, averaging 5.6 points and 5.1 rebounds a game.

Wisconsin opens its season Nov. 11 against Southeastern Louisiana.
