Yankees Send Orioles To Sixth-Straight Loss

Rob Carr/Getty Images(BALTIMORE) --  No matter how many of their players are on the disabled list, never count out the New York Yankees.

They trailed 4-3 in the ninth inning before Travis Hafner tied the game with a home run off of Jim Johnson.  Vernon Wells and Lyle Overbay came through in extras and the Yankees rallied for a 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night.

Johnson has now blown three-straight saves for the Orioles, who have lost six straight.

Mariano Rivera pitched a 1-2-3 tenth inning for his 17th save, and the Yankees remained in first place in the American League East.

"Believe me, I don't take him for granted," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said of Rivera. "It's hard to do it year after year after year. You're going to see guys go through some ups and downs, but Mo doesn't go through a lot."

The Yankees improved to 19-0 this season when scoring the first run of the game.  Robinson Cano hit his 13th home run of the year in the first inning.
