Permit Granted for Tennessee Mosque

(MURFREESCORO, Tenn.) -- The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro was granted a temporary occupancy permit by inspectors of the building on Tuesday morning, reports our ABC affiliate WKRN-TV.

Mosque leaders hope to move in the facility later this week. The permit is valid for 30 days.

For the past two years, opponents have tried to stop the construction of the new mosque, located off Veals Road and Bradyville Pike, but a federal judge ruled in July the congregation has the right to worship in their building when the construction was finished.
