Police Find Bag Linked to Tucson Shooting Suspect

(TUCSON, Ariz.) – The Pima County Sherriff’s Office obtained a black bag on Thursday in Jared Lee Loughner’s neighborhood that they hope may help them piece together the tragic shooting last Saturday.

The office released this statement:

“At approximately 10:00 a.m., the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a black bag found in the 4000 block of W Soledad Place by an individual walking his dog. The bag was determined to be a diaper bag resembling a backpack and contained 9mm ammunition. The found bag is believed to be the black bag that Randy Loughner described his son carrying the morning of the shooting. The bag has been transferred to the custody of the FBI where further analysis will be conducted.”

Police say an 18-year-old man found the bag while walking his dog. Loughner is suspected in the shooting that injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
