Two Injured in Northeast Accident

(WASHINGTON) -- Two people were injured in a car accident in Northeast D.C. Monday morning.

The accident reportedly happened around 6 a.m. in the vicinity of Kendall Street and New York Avenue. Authorities say two vehicles collided, leaving two people trapped in the vehicles. Emergency workers were able to pull both victims from the wreck. Both were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.

Georgetown Students Robbed at Gunpoint

(WASHINGTON) -- Police are investigating an armed home invasion near Georgetown University on Saturday morning. The incident occurred on the 3500 block of S Street Northwest, where both students and non-students live.

Three men, described as being black between the ages of 18 and 24, entered the house looking for a non-student, who was not there at the time. They beat and tied two of the residents and stole a laptop and several cell phones.

Lululemon Suspect Indicted by Grand Jury

(BETHESDA, Md.) -- The woman accused of murdering a woman at an upscale athletic store in Bethesda was indicted Thursday.

Brittany Norwood was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury in the murder of Jayne Murray, 30. Murray was found brutally beaten to death inside of a Bethesda Lululemon store on March 12.

Norwood initially told investigators that she was beaten by Murray's assailant, although this is believed to be a lie.

Man Rescued from Restaurant Ceiling by Police

(WASHINGTON) -- A man was found hanging from the ceiling at a Jerry's Subs and Pizza in Laurel, Maryland on Thursday morning by the store’s manager. The manager arrived to open the restaurant and saw feet dangling from above and called the police.

At least 20 firefighters and paramedics took 40 minutes to rescue the man, who told police he was not trying to rob the restaurant but looking for a place to sleep. The man had been stuck for eight hours and required an oxygen mask to help with his breathing.

He was transferred to a local hospital and will be charged with breaking and entering when he recovers.

DC Schools Set to Open On-Time After Anthrax Scare

(WASHINGTON) -- Public schools will open on-time Friday, despite an anthrax scare which swept the school district Thursday. 

Letters laced with white power were sent to 28 city schools and a youth correctional facility. 

The FBI is currently leading an investigation into the substances. Federal officials say this is not an uncommon crime.
