Cops Identify Victims in Laurel Double Homicide

(LAUREL, Md.) -- Police have identified the victims of a double-murder in Laurel, Md. on Thursday.

The victims are 42-year-old James Vell Ferguson and 45-year-old Tina Towler.

Prince George's County Police say around 8:15 a.m. they responded to a home on the 9600 block of Muirkirk Road to perform a welfare check. At the location, officers found Ferguson and Towler suffering from trauma to the upper body. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are still working to identify suspects and a motive behind the killings.

Suspect Charged in Fatal Northeast DC Shooting 

(WASHINGTON) -- Two people were shot in an incident in Northeast Washington, D.C. on Wednesday morning. One of them has died while the other has been arrested for murder.

The shooting was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m., with officers responding to the 1200 block of Raum Street NE, and finding 35-year-old Thomas Terrell Jamison suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Jamison was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police officials say responding officers also found 43-year-old Kenneth Brown suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on the 1200 block of Simms Place NE. Brown was treated at a local hospital and released, following which, he was arrested and charged with second-degree murder while armed, in connection with Jamison's death.

Three Arrested for Attempted Robbery at Suitland Pawn Shop

(SUITLAND, Md.) -- Shots were fired during an attempted robbery at a Suitland pawn shop on Tuesday.

The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. at the business located on the 4600 block of Silver Hill Road. Police say two men entered the business wearing masks, with one of them being armed with a gun. A security guard reportedly confronted the suspects and gunshots were exchanged. The suspects then fled in a car with a third suspect, according to investigators.

Police were able to track down the getaway car and arrested two of the suspects, with the third suspect being arrested at a local hospital.

Driver Charged in Crash that Killed Pedestrian

(WASHINGTON) -- A 49-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a vehicular crash over the weekend that left a pedestrian dead in Southwest Washington, D.C.

The crash happened on Sunday afternoon in the area of First Street SW and South Capitol Street SW. Police say a car driven by Maria Nicole Werts ran off the roadway and hit pedestrian Emmajean Gainey, 58, who was walking on the sidewalk at the time. Gainey became pinned against a tree, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Werts has since been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, in connection with Gainey's death.

Arrest Made in 2011 Murder

(WASHINGTON) -- An arrest has been made in connection with a murder that happened in Northwest Washington, D.C. back in 2011.

Deangelo Williams, 21, was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder while armed in the death of 18-year-old Lucki Pannell.

Police say on February 19, 2011, they responded to the area of Sherman Avenue and Columbia Road NW on a report of shots fired. At the scene, officers found Pannell and two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

The three victims were taken to local hospitals, where Pannell succumbed to her injuries.
