Car Crashes into New Carrolton Apartment

(NEW CARROLTON, Md.) -- A New Carrolton woman managed to escape serious injury after a car came crashing into her home as she slept early Sunday morning.

The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. at a residence on Riverdale Road. Prince George's County Police said a driver was in the process of pulling into a parking space when the vehicle's brakes failed and the car slammed into an apartment unit ending up in a woman's bedroom, ABC's Washington, D.C. affiliate WJLA reports.

Both the driver and the occupant of the residence were taken to area hospitals for treatment to minor injuries, according to published reports.
