Man Accused of Kidnapping, Sexually Assaulting 6-Year-Old Girl

(LEWISDALE, Md.) -- Prince George's County Police have arrested a 25-year-old man who they say abducted and sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl in Lewisdale on Monday.
Police said around 1:25 p.m. the victim was lured from a store on the 2200 block of University Boulevard by Asuming Amofa, with the suspect then allegedly taking the child to the West Park Playground on Chapman Road and sexually assaulting her. The suspect and the victim were eventually spotted near the playground by police and Amofa was arrested without incident.
The suspect is charged with kidnapping, first-degree sex offense, second-degree sex offense, second-degree assault, and child abuse.
Investigators believe he was also involved in the kidnapping and sexual assault attempt of an eight-year-old girl on July 9.
