Missing Delaware Woman Turns Up Dead in Maryland

(WHALEYVILLE, Md.) -- Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a Delaware woman whose body was found off a dirt road in Worcester County over the weekend.

Officials said the body of Nicole Bennett, 35, was found in an embankment along Swamp Road around 9 a.m. Saturday, by a passerby. An investigation determined that Bennett's husband had reported her missing in Delaware also on Saturday morning about an hour before her body was discovered. The woman reportedly went to work on Friday but never returned home.

An autopsy is to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
