Motorcyclist Killed in Gaithersburg Crash

(GAITHERSBURG, Md.) -- A 24-year-old motorcyclist is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Gaithersburg on Monday.

The Prince George's County Police said shortly after 1:30 p.m., a motorcycle was headed north on Great Seneca Highway approaching Longdraft Road when it with collided with a car that was attempting to turn onto Longdraft Road from Great Seneca Highway. Police said motorcyclist, Michael George Balcom, was thrown from the vehicle on impact and was taken to Shady Grove Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
