Police Arrest 4 Suspects in Rash of Car Burglaries

(MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md.) -- Police in Montgomery County have arrested four people in connection with a recent string of car burglaries.

Police said since June 1, there have been 40 reported incidents of thefts involving 45 vehicles in neighborhoods south of River Road between Goldsboro Road and Little Falls Parkway.

On Thursday, police stopped and searched a suspicious vehicle off of Massachusetts Avenue, and arrested two 17-year-old juveniles from Silver Spring, as well as Kiele Martin, age 19, of Hyattsville and Tiara Groom, age 20, of Bladensburg, in their investigation into the thefts. The suspects are each charged with one count of possession of burglar’s tools with the intent to break and enter a motor vehicle. Police said more charges are pending.
