Virginia Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

(WASHINGTON) -- A Springfield, Va., soldier was killed in action Monday in Afghanistan, ABC News Washington D.C. affiliate WJLA-TV reports.

Chief Warrant Officer Five John C. Pratt, 51, was killed in a helicopter crash that went down in Kabul. Pratt was part of Operation Enduring Freedom, according to the Department of Defense.

Pratt was a member of the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade out of Ansbach-Katterbach, Germany.
