Woman and Dog Die in Manassas Crash
(MANASSAS, Va.) -- A 52-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a vehicular crash in Manassas, Va. over the weekend, in which a woman was killed.
The crash reportedly happened on Saturday night in the area of Dumfries Road and Brentsville Road. Authorities said a 1999 Lexus SUV driven by Lori Love Shipe, ran a red light and collided with a 2008 Ford Focus.
Judith Ann Meyer, 57, who was a passenger in the Focus, died at an area hospital from injuries sustained in the crash, while her dog also reportedly died. The driver of the Focus was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said.
A third vehicle, a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, was also hit by the Focus, however, the driver of that vehicle managed to escape without injury.
Shipe was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
