UN Worker Kidnapped in Sudan's Darfur Region

Image Courtesy - ABC News(KHARTOUM, Sudan) -- A United Nations employee with the peacekeeping mission in Sudan has been kidnapped, according to the U.N.

The incident comes as a high-level U.N. delegation, including Ambassador Susan Rice, is visiting the country, holding talks in Khartoum in an effort to make progress in achieving piece before January’s South Sudan independence referendum.

The delegation’s four-day mission includes a visit to Darfur to raise concerns about the increased violence in the area.
