7.4 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off Guatemalan Coast

Hemera/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) -- A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Guatemala’s Pacific coast Wednesday morning, leaving at least eight people dead, according to BBC News.

Other reports put the number of those dead as high as 15.

There was no immediate threat of a tsunami, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
