Bike Bomb Rocks Eastern Afghan Market

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(KHOST, Afghanistan) -- Afghan officials say a bomb blast ripped through a market Monday, injuring nearly two dozen people. Officials and eyewitnesses report that explosives were strapped to a bicycle pedaled into a busy market in the eastern Afghan city of Khost.

Though no one claimed responsibility for the attack, Khost is a known haven for militant groups such as the Taliban and Haqqani network.

An October bombing in the same neighborhood killed at least 20 people, three of them U.S. soldiers.  The Taliban said they were responsible for that attack.
