Body of Missing US Navy Sailor Recovered in Gulf of Oman

USS Halsey. Photo Courtesy - U.S. Navy(GULF OF OMAN) -- The body of a U.S. Navy sailor was recovered in the Gulf of Oman Wednesday after being reported missing from the USS Halsey.

According to the Navy, a man overboard was called Tuesday when the sailor did not report to watch aboard the guided-missile destroyer.  The Navy, along with the help of the British Royal Navy, deployed helicopters and fighter jets to search for the sailor, who's name is being witheld until next of kin is notified.  The sailor's body was found, but no further details on the recovery were reported.

The Navy is investigating the incident.
