Car Bomb Kills at Least 10 in Damascus

File photo. (LOUAI BESHARA/AFP/Getty Images)(DAMASCUS, Syria) -- Ten people were killed when a car bomb detonated in the Syrian capital of Damascus Monday, the latest crack in a four-day U.N. ceasefire meant to quell the violence over the Muslim holiday Eid al Adha.

Both sides have reportedly violated the truce: activists say the government bombed civilian areas in multiple cities, while rebel groups continued to fight back. One Islamic militant group, Jabhat al Nusra, rejected the ceasefire from the start.

More than 200 people were reported dead over the weekend.
