India Could Run Out of Phone Numbers by Next Year

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- India has more than 1.2 billion people and might run out of phone numbers, unless it acts soon.

All the available numbers will be taken by next year, according to the Times of India.

The Department of Telecom is exploring a variety of options, including 11-digit numbers.
