Islamist Militant Group Claims Responsibility for Sunday Bus Bombing

The group issued a statement on Tuesday saying that the attack was part of an "economic war against this regime of traitors." Later in the statement, the group threatened more similar attacks.

The bus was traveling to Israel from Saint Catherine's monastery in Egypt when the driver stopped to drop off passengers at the Hilton Hotel in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Taba. It was at that point that authorities believe a suicide bomber boarded the bus and detonated an explosive device, killing four people and injuring more than one dozen.

The Egyptian authorities say 32 passengers were on the bus, all believed to be South Korean. Three passengers, plus their Egyptian driver, were reportedly killed.
