North Korea Marks Two-Year Anniversary of Kim Jong-Il's Death

Laurent davoust/Thinkstock(SEOUL, South Korea) --  North Korea held a ceremony Tuesday morning to mark the second anniversary of the death of its former leader Kim Jong-Il.

All eyes in the Pyongyang auditorium were on who was in attendance following the execution of current leader Kim Jong-Un's uncle, Jang Song-Thaek.

Jang's wife was not present. Rumors are swirling that she could be sick. She was reportedly in favor of her husband's ouster from the government.

To the left of Kim Jong-Un sat Politburo chief Choe Ryong-Hae, who is believed to have fueled the purge of Jang and his supporters. That was a promotion from last year when he sat two seats away from the leader.

Kim Yong-Nam, the chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, sat to Kim Jong-Un's right.
