(RIO DE JANEIRO) -- Pope Francis has called on young Catholics to "shake things up," be loud and create havoc in their dioceses.
The pontiff is in Brazil for World Youth Day and his packed schedule on Friday is focused almost entirely on those young Catholics -- from hearing confessions to meeting with young prisoners to having lunch with 12 lucky pilgrims from around the world.
On Thursday night, tens of thousands of young Catholics packed a cold and wet Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro for a World Youth Day event led by the pope. The pontiff joked the young people were showing their faith is stronger than the cold and rain.
After driving in an open jeep through loud crowds of adoring supporters, he called on the pilgrims to stir things up and take the church to the streets.
