Snowden Reading as Russia Mulls Asylum Request

The Guardian via Getty Images(MOSCOW) -- Russia has replied to a U.S. letter from Attorney General Eric Holder urging them to turn over alleged NSA leaker Edward Snowden, but there’s no word yet what the Kremlin said.

Last week Holder urged that Snowden be turned over and assured he does not face the death penalty. Holder offered to issue Snowden a temporary document that would allow him to travel.

There is no decision yet regarding Snowden's application for asylum in Russia.

According to his lawyer, Snowden is still at the airport and enjoying copies of classic Russian literature, including Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment.
