(TRIPOLI, Libya) -- In its first international sporting event under the new Libyan flag, Libya beat Mozambique 1-0 in Cairo Saturday in a qualifying round for Africa's Nations Cup.
Despite that gunfire still rings out in the background, it’s an emotional win for the transitional country that is still searching for stability amid crisis.
The search for Moammar Gadhafi continues though officials are confident he is in the triangle of Sirte, Beni Walid and Sabah, according to Tripoli’s new military commander, Abdul Hakim Belhaj.
With Ramadan over and victory beginning to settle in, the streets are getting busier and busier. There is still no running water in most of Tripoli and it may take several more weeks before it is restored to the city of nearly two million people.
Nonetheless, some shops and cafes are opening and more and more “normalcy” is returning to the streets each day.
