(KABUL, Afghanistan) -- Three insurgents attacked NATO base Camp Phoenix on the outskirts of Kabul Saturday but failed to breach the compound walls.
According to Kabul police, two of the attackers blew themselves up, while the other was killed by coalition forces. Conflicting reports say only one of the three attackers was a suicide bomber and two were shot by police.
Three NATO service members suffered minor injuries.
The attack came hours after a U.N. compound in northern Afghanistan was attacked by Afghans, reportedly angered by the burning of a Koran at a U.S. church.
