(AARHUS, Denmark) -- The Somali man who just over a year ago forced his way into the home of an elderly Danish cartoonist in an attempt to kill him over a caricature depicting the Muslim Prophet Muhammad was sentenced Friday to nine years in prison.
The court found Mohamed Geele guilty of terrorism and attempted murder.
Kurt Westergaard survived the January 1, 2010, home invasion by locking himself inside a panic room. When police arrived, they quickly shot the axe-bearing Geele in the leg.
